THROUGH FIRST WEEK OF MAY: Los Padres National Forest, Santa Lucia Ranger District, is planning a broadcast burn of approximately 200 acres of brush that was mechanically cut last year in the Figueroa Mountain area. This burn is scheduled to begin on March 2, 2010 (weather permitting) and will continue through the first week of May. Active burning will only be Monday through Thursday during the morning and early afternoon hours. Residual smoke may remain in the area for several days following active burning.
Traffic control procedures will be in place, but no road closures are planned during the entirety of the burn.
