CAL FIRE has the green light to go ahead with plans to thin-out heavy forest surrounding Cambria.
The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors denied an appeal Tuesday by Greenspace to stall the project.
At issue is a machine called a masticator that would be used to do the work. Greenspace says the machine is too invasive and wants chainsaws used instead.
Supervisors say they see no evidence that the masticator will cause damage.
Once complete, the project will create a 100-foot fuel break on 50 acres of land to help prevent forest fires.
