Poker tournament raises money for wounded military members

San Luis Obispo Sports Therapy hosted its ninth annual Support Our Troops Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament Saturday. The event kicked off at 2 p.m. and went until 8 p.m. It was held at the Elks Lodge in San Luis Obispo. Guests could check out an auction, food, and plenty of poker. The event raises money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a national organization that serves wounded military members. "I come from a Navy family, and I see a lot of military therapists at the conferences that I go to, and I just thought it was a nice way to have fun, bring the community together, and drum up support for people who have been out there putting it on the line for us," said Michael Smith, the Director of the Hand Therapy Department for San Luis Obispo Sports Therapy. Organizers hope to raise $25,000 at this year's event. If you missed the event, but would like to make a donation, click here.
