Police: 4 gang members arrested after assault, robbery

Four men, who officials say are known gang members, have been arrested in connection to the assault and robbery of a pedestrian at knifepoint in Arroyo Grande last month. Arroyo Grande police say the incident happened in the 600 block of S. Elm Street on February 2. The four suspects, Richard Ceja, 19, Matthew Hurtado, 19, Luis Ramirez, 21, and Reyes Salto, 19, are all residents of Oceano, except Salto, who is from Grover Beach. Police say a search warrant was served at several homes in Oceano and Grover Beach last Friday. Ceja and Hurtado were arrested the same day. Ramirez was arrested Sunday. Salto was already in custody on an unrelated charge, according to police. Hurtado, Ramirez, and Salto pleaded not guilty during their arraignment on Wednesday. They are due back in court next week. The District Attorney's Office says Ceja is not in custody and is scheduled in court for his arraignment March 20.
