Police say a Paso Robles man was arrested Monday on suspicion of child abuse likely to result in death after officers found his two-year-old girl unresponsive at a home in the 200 block of Santa Ysabel Avenue.

Paso Robles Police officers were called out to the home at 5 a.m. Monday where they say the toddler was not breathing.

Police say she had visible head and body injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. After an investigation, police arrested the girl's father, Herbert Brown, III, 29, of Paso Robles. He was booked into county jail. Police say the girl has been transferred to a Bay Area hospital.
