OYSTER BAY, N.Y. (AP) - A family member says the deaths of three children in the Long Island Sound last night were a family tragedy.
They were on a yacht full of fireworks watchers that capsized.
Mike Treanor said he had no other comment before he closed the door of the home. At least two of the children were related.
The bodies of 12-year-old David Aurelino, and two girls, 11-year-old Harley Treanor and 8-year-old Victoria Gaines, were recovered from the boat's cabin after a long overnight search in the waters near Oyster Bay, off Long Island. The remaining 24 people onboard were a mix of adults and children.
It's not clear what caused the accident.
