Morro Bay Police have identified the man killed after a boat capsized in Morro Bay Sunday.
Officials say 53-year-old Christopher Castro from Bakersfield died during the accident.
Police received a call from the Sandpit Emergency phone just before 7:40 a.m. Sunday. The caller said two people had been thrown from a boat that capsized.
One of the boaters had minor injuries and was able to swim to shore. The second boater, Castro, was pulled from the water. First responders started CPR just before 8 a.m.
The Coast Guard helped transport Castro to a local hospital where he was later declared dead.
They have not identified the boater that survived.
Officials spent several hours searching the water before they found the boat.
