San Luis Obispo police have identified a woman critically injured during an attack Saturday as 46-year-old Deirdre Crowley.
Crowley is still listed in critical condition at French Hospital.Police said Tuesday that hospital staff is unable to determine the extent of her injuries and the possibility of her recovering.
Police said Tuesday a 59-year old neighbor, Edmund Leo Nungaray, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and that he admitted choking the victim during an altercation.
Police said they responded to two calls earlier Saturday night in the 3300 block of Bullock Lane about an ongoing dispute between Nungaray and Crowley.
The San Luis Obispo Districy Attorney's office is reviewing the case and will decide on possible charges.
Nungaray remains in the San Luis Obispo County jail on $500,000 bail.
