Police looking for Arroyo Grande stabbing suspect

Police are looking for a 24-year-old man who they say stabbed another man in Arroyo Grande Thursday night.

The incident happened near Farroll Avenue and South Elm Street shortly after 10 p.m.

Arroyo Grande Police say they were called to the area because of a fight, but when they arrived, they found the man with significant injuries outside an apartment complex.

He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to be OK. His name has not been released.

Police have identified the suspect as Michael Johnny Sylva, who they say is a transient living in the Five Cities area. Police say he has tattoos on or near his arms, chest, neck, and head.

If you know where Sylva is, call the Arroyo Grande Police Department at 473-5100.
