Police respond to more bear sightings in San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo Police say there have been more reported bear sightings in San Luis Obispo.

Officials received a call at 5 p.m. Saturday about a bear in a field at the intersection of Broad Street and Fuller Road.

According to reports, the bear was walking toward Broad Street.

Officers arrived at the scene, but they were not able to find the bear.

At 7:45 p.m., police received a second report of a bear.

The caller said they had seen a large bear in the backyard of a home on Calle Del Caminos, the street just north of Fuller Road. Officials say the bear was in the creek area.

Police arrived at the scene, and were still unable to find the bear.

Officials can't confirm if the sightings were the same bear, but given the location of both sightings, they believe it was.

If you spot a bear, contact the police department immediately.
