Police confirm a Santa Maria woman who was reported missing last week was found safe in Los Alamos on Sunday night.

Santa Maria Police say Peggy Castillo, 53, had obtained permission to stay in a resident's fifth wheel trailer in Los Alamos. Sunday, the owner of the trailer saw a missing persons flyer with Castillo's picture on it and notified authorities.

Before Sunday, Castillo was last seen on Wednesday. Her car was found abandoned in Los Alamos on Thursday. Relatives told authorities they were concerned for her welfare because she has been diagnosed as bipolar and was off her medication.

Police say Castillo was taken to Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries.
