Police say guitar part used as weapon in attack

Santa Barbara Police arrested a transient from Scotts Valley on Sunday, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say Jeremy Harp, 32, was drinking alcohol with a group of transients along the 600 block of State Street. Officers say the victim, also a transient, touched Harp's belongings and a fight ensued.

Police say Harp hit the victim on the head several times with a wooden guitar neck.

The victim was treated at the hospital for cuts on his head.

Officers found Harp about a block away and arrested him.
