San Luis Obispo Police arrested a 20-year old man early Wednesday morning, after they say officers found a loaded shotgun, a loaded handgun, ammunition, handcuffs, leg restraints, duct tape, zip ties, and a large machete in his vehicle.

Police say the vehicle was parked at the Heritage Oaks Bank on Froom Ranch Road when a bank employee arrived for work just before 6:30 am. That employee called police because the man inside the vehicle made her nervous and she suspected he might try to hurt her or rob the bank.

When police arrived, they questioned the man, identified as San Luis Obispo resident Turner Newman. They say Newman admitted to having weapons in his vehicle.

Newman faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
