San Luis Obispo police say the body of 20-year-old Charles Tamae was discovered by fellow students who were participating in the search effort on Cerro San Luis mountain.

The students went to a specific location in the area where they knew Tamae liked to visit. Tamae's friends then alerted search and rescue officials.

Police have not yet released an official cause of death. The Cal Poly landscape architecture major had not been seen since Monday, and was reported missing Wednesday.
