Three men will be honored at Cal Poly's 20th annual open house event.
Stephan Lamb, Marquam Piros and Joe Sabol will be the grand marshals for the Open House "Poly Royal" parade on April 20th.
The traditional Poly Royal Festival Parade was banned in 1990 after riots and unruly behavior, but these three men started Cal Poly's Open House program in 1994 and a new parade was introduced in 2001.
"When Open House came back, um, we really were looking at what are some of the traditional events that used to happen at Poly Royal and so in 2001 we brought back the parade as a traditional component of Open House," said Orientation Programs coordinator Jason Mockford.
The parade will start on Grand Avenue and end on campus at Dexter Lawn.
Open House begins on April 18th and goes until April 20th.
