The San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District and Public Health Department is advising people that the air quality in South County continues to be impacted from the fire burning in Montana de Oro State Park.

The air quality index is at a moderate level meaning the air is unhealthy for very sensitive people. County officials urge residents to use common sense and take precaution to reduce the harmful health effect associated with smoke exposure.

They say, when you can smell the smoke in your surroundings you should avoid strenuous outdoor activity and remain indoors as much as possible.

The District states that they are continuing to monitor the smoke impact closely and air quality in San Luis Obispo County.
