Poor sleep habits in infants may be from genetics

If your toddler doesn't sleep well at night, it may be because of his genes.

Researchers in Canada surveyed the parents of nearly 1,000 twins. Genetics appeared to influence how long children slept at night, particularly for kids who woke up frequently.

By the time they reached 18 months old, environmental factors became an added factors. Experts say that's the age when teaching kids good nighttime sleep habits would be beneficial.
