Power forward signs National Letter of Intent to Mustangs

The Cal Poly men's basketball program announced that 6'8", 225 pound power forward Aleks Abrams has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Mustangs starting next season.

As a junior at Oaks Christian High School, Abrams averaged 7.6 points per game and ranked second among Tri-Valley League players with 9.0 rebounds per contest. Abrams also led the league with 1.1 blocks per game and shot 50.7 percent from the floor. With Abrams in the lineup during the last two years, Oaks Christian has a combined 16-4 Tri-Valley record and twice finished as league runners-up.

Additionally, the program confirmed that junior forward Anthony Silvestri has been awarded a full scholarship for the 2014-15 senior season. Silvestri has played five total minutes in two Cal Poly losses this year.
