The Pozo fire that began Saturday, August 21 in northeastern San Luis Obispo County has reached 100 percent containment.
The fire burned 1,151 acres. Fire crews said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The flames burned through dormant brush, hardwood slash, grass, brush and oaks. Ninety percent of the area impacted by the Pozo fire also burned in 1996 during the Highway 58 fire.
While the fire is contained, there are still 175 personnel assigned to the incident. Additionally, there is still a helicopter, one fixed wing aircraft, five dozers, nine water tenders, three crews and 13 engines. Officials said most of these resources will be released by the end of Thursday.
