Premature baby boys more at risk of dying, developing disabilities

New research reveals premature baby boys are at a higher risk of dying and having disabilities than premature baby girls.

Researchers say baby boys tend to have more birth complications. They're also more at risk of getting Jaundice and infections.

Studies found a baby boy born at the same point in the pregnancy as a baby girl is more likely to die or have Cerebral Palsy, blindness, deafness, or learning problems.

Researchers say this is because girls mature faster in the womb, so their lungs and other organs are more developed.
