Orcutt native Josh Prenot swam in a final at the USA Swimming Championships in Indianapolis for a fourth straight day on Saturday. Prenot finished fifth in the 200 meter Individual Medley to give him four top eight finishes at the national swimming meet.
11 time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte won the race in 1:55.44, which is the best time in the world this year. The 28 year old is a five time Olympic Gold medalist. The 19 year old Prenot touched the wall in 2:00.33.
Prenot finished fifth on Wednesday in the 200 meter breaststroke, fourth on Thursday in the 400 meter Individual Medley and eighth on Friday in the 100 meter breaststroke.
He was named Pac-12 freshman of the year at Cal this season after winning the Pac-12 meet and placing fourth in the NCAA meet in the 400 meter Individual Medley.
Arroyo Grande High School senior to be Zach Stevens competed in two events at the USA Swimming Championships. Stevens failed to qualify for the finals in the 50 meter breaststroke on Thursday and the 100 meter breaststroke on Friday.
