Orcutt native Josh Prenot swam in a final at the USA Swimming Championships for a third straight day. After finishing fifth in the 200 meter breaststroke on Wednesday and fourth in the 400 meter Individual Medley on Thursday, Prenot finished eighth in the 100 meter breaststroke on Friday. The five day event in Indianapolis finishes up on Saturday. Prenot will swim in the prelims of the 200 meter Individual Medley on Saturday morning with the top eight finishers advancing to the finals later in the day. 11-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte is also expected to compete in the 200 meter Individual Medley.
The 19 year old Prenot finished last out of eight swimmers in the 100 meter breaststroke. He clocked a time of 1:01.81, fellow 19 year old Kevin Cordes won in 59.99 seconds.
Prenot was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and finished fourth at the NCAA Championships in the 400 meter Individual Medley while swimming for Cal.
