I've been practicing my Stop, Drop and Roll techniques and hope to help get a lot of Central Coast kids doing the same tomorrow.
Matt Santa Maria and I are joining with 17 local fire departments tomorrow to roll into 17 different school campuses to encourage kids to be prepared to protect themselves (and their families) in the case of fire.
It's a really fun day and local firefighters work hard to make the lessons fun for kids to learn. It makes it all the more effective if parents can show enthusiasm for what their children will learn tomorrow. So put a little reminder on your smart-phone to ask you child/children about what they learned from firefighters (and those crazy KSBY kids) when they come home from school tomorrow.
We all certainly hope the lessons being taught tomorrow are not needed in your home or family, but if they ever are, you'll be grateful you took a few moments to take it seriously, and help your kids do the same.
I'll see them on the fire truck tomorrow!
