Prescribed burn underway southeast of Lopez Lake

CAL FIRE is conducting a 525-acre prescribed burn in southwestern San Luis Obispo County, about 4 miles southeast of Lopez Lake in the vicinity of Huasna.

Five fire engines, one bulldozer, one helicopter and three fire crews are involved in the burn.

Crews are using the burn to clear highly-flammable brush and other wildland fuels in an area prone to wildfires.
