President Obama promises justice for Americans killed in Libya

President Obama has promised justice for the four Americans killed in an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Ambassador Christopher Stevens was among those killed by an armed mob Tuesday.
Though the attack took place on the anniversary of 9/11, the motivation appears to have been a protest over an anti-Muslim video released over the internet.
"We will not waver in our commitment to make sure justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake mistake, justice will be done," the president vowed.
Hours earlier protesters overran the U.S. embassy in Cairo.
The confrontations were blamed on an anti-Muslim video made in the United States and released over the internet.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney condemned the attack, but also criticized the Obama administration for a statement that denounced what it called "misguided individuals who hurt the religious feelings of Muslims".
"Apologizing for free speech is not the right course for the administration," Romney said.
Ambassador Chris Stevens was a career diplomat who had been in Libya during the revolution that toppled Muammar Qadaffy.
"It is especially tragic that Chris Stevens died in Benghazi, because it is a city he helped to save," President Obama noted.
"He risked his life to stop a tyrant and then gave his life to rebuild libya the world needs more Chris Stevenses," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.
The administration made it clear this attack was carried out by Libyans, but not by Libya, and said the country was working to find and punish those responsible.
