Protein could help detect Alzheimer's Disease sooner

New brain imaging technology may help doctors detect Alzheimer's Disease in it's early stages.

Researchers at Japan's National Institute of Radiological Sciences developed a way to take images of a protein that accumulates in the brains of people with Alzheimers.

They created a chemical that binds with the protein and can be detected during brain scans. Researchers say the protein begins accumulating in the brain in early stages of the disease.

They hope the findings can help doctors diagnose the disease sooner, and help patients avoid developing some symptoms
