Questions asked about Diablo Canyon's quake safety

A lot of residents and lawmakers in San Luis Obispo County are questioning the threat of a nuclear disaster after the third possible meltdown at a Japanese nuclear reactor.

Diablo Canyon Power Plant is near several fault lines, including the Hosgri Fault and Shoreline Fault.

Several legislators have argued for better studies of quake risks, with some even asking for a possible delay in re-licensing Diablo Canyon Power Plant until those studies are done.

The power plant is currently in the process of renewing its operating license.

Tonight, we investigate how big the potential risk is on the Central Coast.
