The San Luis Obispo Symphony hosts a number of free dress rehearsals each year, and a packed house is expected. But last Saturday, they weren't expecting Rabobank to show up with a $10,000 check. More than 1,000 music lovers filled the Performing Arts Center to catch the "No Ties Allowed! FREE Dress Rehearsal." At the event, Steve Harding, Regional President of Rabobank, presented the check to Jim Black, the Executive Director of the Symphony.
Rabobank has been a large supporter of the Symphony since 1999. The $10,000 donation makes them a "Signature Music Education Sponsor." The money will go towards the Symphony's music education programs, which help over 16,000 people every year.
The Symphony still has three more free dress rehearsals that the public is invited to attend. They're scheduled for February 2, March 16, and May 4, 2013. The rehearsals are open from 1-3p.m., and they recommend getting their early to get seats. For more information on the San Luis Obispo Symphony, you can visit their website at click here.
