Rain or shine, folks are invited out to dedicate the new Madonna Inn bike path in San Luis Obispo Friday.
The path runs parallel to Highway 101 from Marsh Street to the entrance of the Madonna Inn. City officials say the path was created so pedestrians and cyclists won't have to travel on the busy Madonna Road bridge that runs over Highway 101. The path is also a part of San Luis Obispo's bicycle transportation plan, meant to encourage alternative forms of transportation.
Mayor Jan Marx and will be at Friday's dedication, along with other keynote speakers. The ceremony takes place at the north end of the Madonna Inn parking lot. It begins at 3:00p.m.
