Former Cal Poly All-American Ramses Barden will look to seize an opportunity on Thursday when the New York Giants play the Carolina Panthers.
The reigning Super Bowl champion Giants will be without two of their three leading wide receivers. Nicks has a foot injury and Dominik Hixon has a concussion. Both are doubtful for Thursday's game. The Giants, who will be playing their first road game of the season, will also be without running back Ahmad Bradshaw, offensive tackle David Diehl and defensive end Adewale Ojomo.
Barden has one catch for 24 yards so far this season for the 1-1 Giants. He started the season the Giants' #4 wide receiver.
The fourth-year wide receiver has 16 catches and 0 touchdowns in 18 career NFL regular season games.
Kickoff on Thursday night is at 5:20 pm PDT. The game airs on the NFL Network.
