Record breaking cold predicted for north county, how cold will it get?

The morning of the 18th of Jan. in 1987 Paso Robles was 16 degrees, my prediction for Wednesday is 14. Elsewhere we aren't expecting records but it'll be close. In fact all the standing records for cold were set on that morning in 1987. Santa Maria was 25, SLO was 26 and Santa Barbara was 28.

I am predicting SLO to drop to 28, Santa Maria 27 and Santa Barbara 31 on Wednesday morning.

The area of greatest concern may be the Santa Ynez valley where a freeze warning is posted, we are expecting lows to be in the lower 20s. Major freeze events can impact a number of crops in the Santa Ynez valley, even during winter months.

Anyone trying to tend sensitive plants needs to take precautions tonight regardless of where they live and pipes may burst tonight due to the abnormally cold conditions.
