It was a record setting year for the KSBY Stuff the Bus campaign, and it's all thanks to you. We received thousands of school supplies from people across the Central Coast, and dozens of volunteers took time out of their day to collect the items from each of you. With help from United Way, 14 school sites will receive boxes of school items to help them through the year.
"Just like every school district in the county, we have a good chunk of students who, because of this economy have families who are in trouble, having a hard time. These supplies are exactly what a lot of our students need," said student services coordinator Ian Trejo of San Luis Coastal School District. "It's hard to put a number on exactly how many students will benefit from it, but I would say a lot, because we're going to be sending a large box of supplies to every site in the district and so I would say thousands of students will benefit from Stuff the Bus."
Thanks again to everyone who volunteered and pitched in to help local students in need.
