Recruiting letter sent by 2-year-old's dad draws kind response from OSU coach Urban Meyer

(WCMH) Sullivan Busser cannot brush his own teeth, but he's already had a brush with big-time college football recruiting.

"Right now he has no clue what's going on, but he'll appreciate this when he gets older," said Sullivan's father, Matt, a devoted Ohio State fan.

Matt recently had a chance to take pictures of 2-year-old Sullivan on the field at Ohio Stadium. Busser said that when he got home with the pictures, he was struck with an idea.

"Him throwing a spiral, eating popcorn. Looks like a super Buckeye recruit. Wonder what would happen if I sent it to Urban Meyer, could I get a response? So I put all the pictures in a little collage," Busser said.

The collage photo also listed Sullivan's height and weight -- 3 feet, 2 inches and 25 pounds -- and the boy's non-football interests. Busser sent Meyer the photo, and a few weeks later, a letter arrived from Ohio State.

"It says Sullivan Busser, and I knew immediately what it was before I opened it," Busser said.

The letter from Meyer read, "Your parents sent us your future Buckeye recruiting information. We will look for you to make your collegiate football debut in 2029 -- you will need to gain a little weight but our strength staff will take care of that! Go Bucks! Sincerely, Urban Meyer."

Busser said Sullivan loves football, but he really loves the marching band. His dad said he's received some reaction to the letter since it was published nationally by USA Today.

"On message boards, even a Michigan fan says I hate people from Ohio but this is really cute," he said.
