Red panda cubs get check up at Charles Paddock Zoo

The Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero has two new additions. Two red panda cubs were born in June and will soon be old enough to meet zoo visitors. The staff has been carefully tending to the cubs. They've been under close watch because of the heat in Atascadero this summer. "You know, nature does a great job. Mother pandas take care of baby pandas a lot better than we ever could in captivity, so our goal was to keep the cubs with mom and have her raise them and do well and it's worked out well for us," said Alan Baker, Zoo Director. Saturday is International Red Panda Day and the zoo is hosting special activities to celebrate. The zoo is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.While the cubs likely won't be ready to make their debut, you'll be able to meet their parents.
