Nadine Reed scored twice in the second half to catapult the Arroyo Grande High girls soccer team into first place in the Pac 7 League with a 3-0 lead over rival and league-leading San Luis Obispo on Monday.
The Eagles improved to 9-1-1 in league and scored revenge on a 2-0 loss to the Tigers earlier this season. The Tigers dropped to 8-2 in league with two league matches to go.
After a scoreless first half, the Eagles broke through when Mallory Flatebo won control of the ball from a Tiger defender inside the box. She sent a cross to the far side of the goal where Reed tapped it home to give AG a 1-0 lead in the 47th minute.
Then in the 55th minute, Reed struck again when she rolled the ball by the charging Tiger keeper off a ball sent into the box by Roxy Harmon.
Reed, who's set to sign a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to play at Arizona State, upped her season total to 20 goals. Flatebo, who will sign to play at Cal State Bernadino, recorded her 7th assist to go with 15 goals.
Elizabeth Heyde scored the third goal for AG at the 65 minute mark when she buried a free kick into the back of the net from just outside the penalty box. It was her 8th goal of the year.
AG ends the regular season Wednesday night at home against Paso Robles. The Tigers play St. Joseph on Wednesday and at Righetti on Friday.
