BURBANK, Calif. (AP) - Some flights scheduled to depart from Burbank Bob Hope Airport have been canceled after a mechanical failure in the lighting system left a runway dark.
Airport spokeswoman Lucy Burghdorf says the edge lighting system for one of the airport's two runways failed last night and it's still under repair.
All departing flights have been canceled for airlines operated by Skywest, such as United and Delta.
Burghdorf urges travelers with flights scheduled to leave from Burbank to check with their airline before getting to the airport.
Arriving flights have not been affected by the problem, and are landing at the airport's remaining functional runway.
