Representative Lois Capps set to visit greenhouses in Arroyo Grande

Representative Lois Capps is visiting three Arroyo Grande greenhouses Wednesday.

All of the greenhouses are part of the Central Coast Greenhouse Growers Association, which represents 17 local nursery businesses in Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, and Santa Maria.

"The agricultural community is the backbone of our economy on the Central Coast. I look forward to touring these facilities and hearing form these small business owners about how we can better meet the needs of this important industry through federal efforts to enact comprehensive immigration reform, preserve local farms, and pass a Farm Bill," said Capps.

The tour goes from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. It takes place at Greenheart Farm, which is located at 902 Zenon Way, as well as Ball Tagawa Growers at 819 Zenon Way, and Native Sons at 379 El Campo Road.
