Republican Sam Blakeslee is the winner of Tuesday night's special election to fill the District 15 Senate Seat.
Blakeslee was up against three other candidates for the seat vacated by now Lieutenant Governor Abel Maldonado. He beat out Democrat John Laird with 49-percent of the vote to Laird's 44-percent.
Independent Jim Fitzgerald received five percent of the votes, while Libertarian Mark Hinkle received two percent of the votes.
Ksby News Reporter Bill Halter has reaction from both the winner, and runner up in this race.
