Johns Hopkins researchers say they have biological proof that music is a universal language.
In a study, the same part of the brain that is linked to processing spoken language was activated when jazz musicians "traded fours," which is a type of musical conversation.
The findings suggest there is a circuit in the brain that processes overall communication, whether that's through language or music.
