Flu researchers around the world are keeping their eye on a new strain of bird flu out of China.
New data on the deadly strain of bird flu show it may be strong enough to cause a pandemic. So far nine people have been infected, and three have died.
They have had the first cases of the illness outside of the animals. However, there is no evidence the virus is spreading from human to human. There is still a chance it could fade away and never become a human form of the Flu virus.
Researchers are working to find the source of the illness, and are monitoring genetic markers that could signal whether it will become a human pandemic.
