A Grover Beach restaurant stepped up in a big way for a 9 year old boy, who needs a service dog to get around.

9 year old Lucas Appleton has a rare crippling form of Muscular Dystrophy.

Two years ago he was able to run, now he needs a service dog and walker.

Today Mongo's Saloon and Restaurant in Grover Beach held a fundraiser and they raised enough to get Lucas his new best friend.

The rest of the money will be put in a trust for Lucas.
