Restaurant Month underway in San Luis Obispo County

For the month of January, you can get some great deals at local eateries.

Restaurant Month began Wednesday in San Luis Obispo County and lasts until the end of the month.

More than 40 restaurants are offering a variety of special menu selections.

Some of them will have a special three-course meal for $30.

Giuseppe Difronzo, manager of Palazzo Giuseppe in San Luis Obispo, one of the participating restaurants, says, "It's a really nice draw for new customers. They get to come and sample three different dishes that a lot of people haven't had yet, and then even for our regular customers a lot of people come in, they have a favorite they always go for but during Restaurant Month they can try something new that they haven't tried before."

Restaurant month began locally seven years ago.
It's now part of a statewide promotion, California Restaurant Month, designed by Visit California.
