Reward offered for information on June Oceano homicide

A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in the murder of a Nipomo man last month. Joseph Padilla, 25, was found with knife wounds in front of a home in the 1300 block of 19th Street in Oceano on June 21. Officials with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office say Padilla died from his injuries. On June 23, deputies arrested Joseph Munoz in Guadalupe. Officials say he is in San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of being connected to the case, but he has not been charged. The Sheriff's Office is looking for additional people connected to the June 21 homicide. San Luis Obispo County Crime Stoppers is offering the $1,000 reward. Anyone with information can call the 24-hour Crime Stoppers hotline at (805) 549-STOP or text "SLOTIPS" plus a message to CRIMES (274637). Anonymous tips can be made at sanluisobispocounty.crimestoppersweb.com. The investigation is ongoing.
