More than 200 bicylists, including injured veterans and their supporters, will pass through the Central Coast as part of the seven-day Ride 2 Recovery Golden State Challenge, presented by United Healthcare. It's a 450-mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
The group is expected to depart Carmel at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and arrive in San Simeon around 4 p.m. Then, on Wednesday, the cyclists will ride more than 54 miles to Pismo Beach.
Ride 2 Recovery is a non-profit organization that helps injured veterans improve their health and wellness through cycling.
