Riders in Avila Beach were revving up their engines Sunday for a good cause.

The 32nd annual SLO County Toy Run went from Avila Beach to Creston during the 45-mile motorcycle ride.

The cost to participate was $5 and a new toy for a child in need.

The afternoon also included live music, raffles and a barbecue.

Bernard Duque, the president of the Toy Run committee, says, "We felt the need 32 years ago that there were children that weren't in the main stream that would get neglected if someone didn't put on a local toy drive, and so we started back then and there's been other ones come and gone, but we've stayed constant and tried to get the kids that seem to fall through the cracks."

Duque says if people still want to donate, they can call him at 489-7001 for drop-off locations.

Organizers say they hope to collect more than 2,000 toys for local non-profits.
