The Atascadero and Righetti boys basketball teams both finished the Pac-7 season with 10-2 records. On Friday the Greyhounds won at Pioneer Valley, 79-68. Righetti won at San Luis Obispo, 76-44.
The Greyhounds beat the Warriors on Wednesday to move into a first place tie. Atascadero earns its first league title in two years, Righetti wins its first championship in three years.
Righetti sophomore Cameron Walker was the Warriors leading scorer with 26. Righetti led San Luis Obispo 38-22 at the half, the Tigers never got closer in the second half. The Warriors are now 14-11 overall. The Tigers finish the season 8-17, 3-9 in the Pac-7.
Junior guard Robbie Berwick led Atascadero in scoring with 27 on Friday night. Junior guard Joe Johnson added 22 and junior forward Jared Stuedemann had 15. The Greyhounds led 42-32 at the half and held on for the 11 point win. Atascadero is 17-8 overall after starting the season 0-5. Pioneer Valley finishes 3-20, 1-11 in the Pac-7.
St. Joseph beat Paso Robles, 67-35 behind 22 points from Curry Parham and 21 from Case Bruton. The Knights finish the regular season, 9-3 in the Pac-7, 19-7 overall. The Bearcats were 2-10, 6-19.
Atascadero, Righetti, St. Joseph and fourth place Arroyo Grande (7-5) will advance to the CIF-Southern Section playoffs. Pairings will be announced on Sunday.
