The Righetti High girls tennis team advanced out of the wildcard round of the CIF playoffs for the second year in a row on Tuesday. The Warriors defeated visiting Warren 12-6 in a Division 3 match.
Righetti, the third seed out of the Pac 7 League, advances to Wednesday's first round where the Warriors will play at top ranked Malibu at 2pm.
Annette Sousa and Chanel Yamaguchi won two of their three singles sets for Righetti. The Warriors' top doubles team of Gabi Pereveziev and Kate Hardisty swept their three sets to lead Righetti.
Also on Tuesday, Cabrillo blanked visiting Palmdale 18-0 in a Division 4 Wildcard match. The Conquistadores advanced to set up a first round match at Allan Hancock College on Wednesday against Orcutt Academy, the #2 seed in Division 4.
League champions Santa Ynez and Arroyo Grande host first round games on Wednesday. San Luis Obispo opens at Buckley.
