Righetti beats Cabrillo in preaseason battle of ranked teams

Warriors blank Cabrillo in preseason showdown of ranked teams

The Righetti girls soccer team blanked Cabrillo 2-0 in a preseason showdown between ranked and defending league champion squads on Thursday night.

The Warriors broke a scoreless game in the 28th minute on a goal from Bailey Wineman that was assisted by Michaela Olney.

Righetti, the defending Pac 7 League champions and 8th ranked team in Division 3, added a second half goal from Itzy Pinon. Olney assisted on both goals for the Warriors.

The Conquistadores were ranked 3rd in the Division 5 preseason poll. They are the defending Los Padres League champions.
