The Righetti High boys golf team secured its third-straight PAC 7 League title by taking the league final by two strokes over Arroyo Grande at Rancho Maria Golf Course on Tuesday.
Righetti won with a total score of 387 on its home course. Arroyo Grande tallied 389, while San Luis Obispo came in third with 395 strokes. Atascadero finished fourth at 396, St. Joseph came in fifth at 411, while Pioneer Valley finished sixth at 396. Paso Robles received no score after the team arrived late for the shotgun start.
The Warriors were led by UCLA-bound Reilly McMahon, who shot a one-over 73, followed by Landon Brown and Steve Reyburn with 78's.
St. Joseph's Tom Brennacher was the medalist with a one-under par 71. Atascadero was led by Brandon Vail, who carded a 74, while Doug Merrin led the Eagles and Adam Zakaria paced the Tigers with 75's.
The Eagles overtook the Warriors last week after winning the final league tournament of the season. AG was seeking its first league title since 1995. Righetti needed to place first in the Finals to win its second-straight title and did so to edge the Eagles by one point in the overall standings.
San Luis Obispo finished in third place, while Atascadero came in fourth. The top four teams in the league standings qualify for CIF.
