Righetti soccer star Ivy Diego signs with Cal State Fullerton

After starring and scoring a ton on local soccer fields the last four years, Righetti High's Ivy Diego scored a college scholarship on Thursday.
Diego signed a national letter of intent to play soccer at Cal State Fullerton, the reigning Big West Conference regular season champion.
Ivy is a four year varsity player who's played on three Pac 7 League champion squads. As a sophomore, she scored 27 goals and led the Warriors to their first-ever CIF semifinal appearance.
Overall, she has 63 career goals for the Warriors.
She passed on several offers from schools like Miami, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, Cal State Northridge and Iowa to play for Cal State Fullerton.
"It feels awesome. I mean I'm so ecstatic about everything I mean. This has just been a great journey for myself and it's only going to go on," said Diego, who's older sister attends CSUF.
"I'm so thankful for my family for letting me fulfill my dream," she added after being asked about how much she and her family have sacrificed for playing soccer year-round.
Ivy is the first Righetti High student-athlete in the Class of 2013 to sign a letter of intent.
Fullerton went 10-9-1 overall last season and 7-2 in conference. The Titans lost in the Big West Tournament title game and missed out on a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
